Perched on an ancient incline, with unbeatable views over the waters of Stornoway, this inspiring, gothic-revival style castle hails from the mid-1800’s. Commissioned by Sir James Matheson, its historic walls have harboured nobility, WW2 hospital patients, college and school students, but now, after a dedicated restoration, has opened its doors to visitors from across the globe to enjoy a range of self catering apartments.
On the ground floor, wander the star-lined corridor, delicately restored ballroom, guest lounge and opulent whisky bar, before tucking into deliciously, dishes in our popular Storehouse Café and shop.
