The Entrance

Enter the majestic entrance hall (complete with boot rack and coat store), before gazing upon the sweeping, turned staircase that leads to the first-floor landing; equipped with antique bagatelle table for penning postcards and tales of your stay.

Cooking, Dining & Other Essentials

Follow the ground floor to the heart of Gitcombe House; the beautiful, flag-stoned kitchen (and breakfast room), well equipped with all the cookware you could possibly need to rustle up family feasts and cater to even the most fussy of palettes. Amenity-wise, guests can enjoy the traditional oil-fired AGA, conventional oven, walk-in pantry and oversized fridge-freezer, before settling down at the central island for beautiful breakfasts and sumptuous suppers. For a little pre-dinner entertainment, the kitchen boasts a digital radio and Bose iPod docking station, plus views of the beautiful grounds. There is also a handy utility room with washing machine, drier and sink. The jewel in Gitcombe House’s crown however, is the magnificent, chandelier-clad formal dining room, complete with mahogany dining suite and an antique rocking horse!

Living & The Snug

The beauty of Gitcombe House is its nooks and crannies from which to enjoy a good book or a peaceful moment. The light-filled drawing room overlooks the pretty garden, with deep, comfy sofas, plush carpets and roaring open fire. For those that need a little modern fun, there is also a flat screen TV & Blu-ray DVD player, plus a Bose sound dock for impromptu boogying. Stepping next door, younger explorers can find the ‘Snug’ – the perfect ‘chill-out’ room with matching entertainment, DVD library and a selection of games.

Sleeping

Six, sumptuous bedrooms at Gitcombe House sleep up to 13 guests, with each double bed boasting luxury pocket-sprung mattresses (and for light sleepers, there are black-out blinds to block out the morning rays of sun).

Bedroom One: Fabulously appointed, large master en-suite bedroom, complete with sleigh-bed and freestanding cot. The bathroom features shower over tub and a heated towel rail, with views over the back garden.

Bedroom Two: Spacious family room with three single beds (and room for an additional cot). There’s more than enough wardrobe space, plus cast iron fireplace and TV for late night sleepovers.

Bedroom Three: This smaller bedroom is equipped with two single beds and a television.

Bedroom Four: A large, light and airy room with beautiful sash windows and garden views. The white, forged-iron, super-king bed guarantees peaceful dreaming and there’s also space for a cot.

Bedroom Five: Spacious room for two with a gorgeous, king-size mahogany sleigh bed and cast-iron fireplace.

Bedroom Six: The accessible, downstairs bedroom with two single beds.

Bathing

On the ground floor, there is a shower room with drench-head shower and heated towel rail for those with accessibility requirements. Upstairs, there is a stunning family bathroom with cast-iron slipper bath and walk-in shower to match, double vanity and cast-iron fireplace with views across the grounds. An additional WC can also be found upstairs, plus the en-suite bathroom in the master bedroom.

Stepping Outside

Enjoy sun-dappled days from the comfort of your own enclosed garden to the front of Gitcombe House, plus an additional private garden to the rear. There is plenty of beautiful outdoor furniture to relax into and a BBQ for sizzling up local delicacies. A secret gate leads guests to the outdoor swimming pool for refreshing dips! Accommodating 13 guests is easy with space for 2-3 cars directly in front of the house.
