About the Area
This patch of Norfolk is the perfect location for anyone passionate about the great outdoors. Bordered by pine woods, and pretty coastal huts; the large sandy Holkham beach at Wells-next-the Sea, stretches for miles and makes for a fabulous day out for all generations. With restaurants, cafes and shops dotted around the harbour and surrounding streets, this charming coastal town is a delight. From crabbing on the quayside, to sipping cider at Whin Hill, to taking a cruise around the harbour and salt marsh-this is the great British holiday at its finest.
A full day should definitely be spent exploring the impressive and vast Holkham Hall estate, which in addition to many walking trails has a broad offering including bike and boat hire, walled garden, ropes course -not forgetting the main Hall and premium restaurant offering.
Further afield, the traditional seaside town of Hunstanton, or "Hunston" as it is known locally, is a half hour drive away. Here you can find the Sea Life Centre where you can discover all kinds of wonderful creatures from small fish to sea lions, alongside Blackbeards Adventure Golf where you can try your luck at a hole in one.
