Dittisham village is just one mile away, and the rivers edge is a popular spot with children, who enjoy crabbing on the old pontoon. One can also catch the Greenway Ferry across to Greenway Quay, which sits next door to the National Trust Greenway Estate, the former home of the renowned author Agatha Christie. The steam railway also passes Greenway and is a relaxing way to explore the surrounding coastline in comfort.
Heading home, after a day of adventure, you are sure to receive a warm welcome at The Ferry Boat Inn at Dittisham-where you can a enjoy a drink as the sun sets and watch the boats coming in at the end of the day.
A short drive (or thirty minute ferry journey) takes you to Dartmouth, a lively coastal town complete with a wide array of interesting shops and cafes. It is also renowned for both its’ nautical and engineering importance, and is a town full of culture, history, and heritage, from castles to forts, ancient buildings and museums.
