8 Doors Distillery's name is inspired by the legend surrounding Jan De Groot - the man that John O’Groats takes it’s name from. In particular the house he built on the site which is now marked by a mound near the Together Travel lodges and the Inn, a short distance from the distillery.
This micro-distillery serves premium whisky and provides tours with opportunities to sample their finest drams. They also offer a Private Dining Experience, including access to their exclusive Whisky Lounge and Tasting Room. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a whisky cocktail, followed by an exquisite six-course menu featuring the finest produce from Caithness and the Highlands. Local chef Callum Moodie showcases his passion for regional ingredients through a variety of tantalizing menu choices. After indulging in this gastronomic pleasure, guests can relax in the lounge with a coffee and a sweet treat.
